چکیده

Background Obesity has been associated with inflammation. However, the mechanisms are not well understood. The purpose of this study was to determine if exercise and diet-induced weight loss would affect markers of inflammation via the Phosphatase and Tensin homologue Deleted from Chromosome-10 (PTEN), TNF receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6), Phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3k), Protein Kinase B (AKT or PKB), Nuclear Factor kappa Beta (NF-kB) signaling pathway through the regulation of microRNA 21 and microRNA 146a expression.

Hyperglycemia- Induced NF-κB Activation Increases microRNA-146a Expression in Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells

Background & objectives: Nuclear Factor kappa B (NF-κB), a master switch transcription factor, plays a critical role in the progression and development of hyperglycemia-induced microangiopathy. Hyperglycemia activates NF-κB, and subsequently increases pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β leading to development of inflammation. Some new studies have revealed the involvement o...

THE EFFECTS OF COMBINED EXERCISE WITH AND WITHOUT DIET ON PLASMA INFLAMMATORY BIOMARKERS AND ENDOTHELIAL DYSFUNCTION IN ELDERLY PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES

Background: Inflammation plays an important role in the incidence and development of metabolic disorders and exercises along with dietary restrictions for weight loss. It has beneficial effects on reducing inflammatory markers, especially in type 2 diabetes. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of combined exercise (resistance-aerobic) with and without diet restriction on weight...

Effects of genistein and swimming exercise on spatial memory and expression of microRNA 132, BDNF, and IGF-1 genes in the hippocampus of ovariectomized rats

Objective(s): The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of genistein and exercise on the spatial memory and expression of microRNA-132, BDNF, and IGF-1 in the hippocampus of ovariectomized rats. Materials and Methods: Sixty animals were divided into six groups of control, sham, ovariectomy (OVX), ovariectomized with 8 weeks of genistein administration (OVX.G), with 8 weeks of ...

The Effect of Combining Aerobic Exercise and Royal Jelly on the Expression of Pro-Inflammatory Cytokines in Liver Tissue of Obese Rats

Background: Inflammation plays a critical role in the promotion of hepatocyte damage and liver fibrosis. In recent years the protective role of exercise and royal jelly (RJ), has been suggested for metabolic and inflammatory disorders. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effects of aerobic training (AT) and RJ on pro-inflammatory markers in a rat's model of a high-fat diet (HFD). Methods: ...

A comparative study of the antidiabetic effect of two training protocols on miR-133aand Runx2 in high-fat diet and streptozotocin-induced diabetic: an experimental study

Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) in the elderly is an epidemic that has major impact on global health. Thus this experimental study aimed to compare the response of microRNA-133a (miR-133a) in different tissues and of Runt-related transcription factor 2 (Runx2) in bone marrow tissue following resistance and endurance training in old rats with high-fat diet and streptozotocin (HFD/STZ)-induced ...
